Workers at a major Amazon air hub plan to strike after their demands for safer working conditions were not met
At an Amazon air facility in California, workers have demanded mandatory breaks for heat safety as well as pay raises in order to establish better working conditions. These demands come in the wake of record-high heat waves last month and increasing costs of living in California. Employees at the facility have also stated that Amazon brought in third-party consultants to dissuade them from speaking about their rights under OSHA. As a result, these Amazon workers plan to go on strike, which will add to the various labor organizing events occurring at other Amazon warehouse locations this week.
