Workers at Alphabet, the parent company of Google, claim the company illegally restricted access to pay transparency information
According to the Alphabet Workers Union, workers were illegally restricted from accessing pay transparency documents. As a result, the union has filed a claim with the NLRB that the company violated workers' rights to organize by interfering with their access to critical information. The claim lists Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, as a joint employer of subcontracted staff to include these workers in the push for freedom of information. Ultimately, this case brings up the question of whether employees' rights are protected when actions occur on their companies' computer and email systems.
