Workers express anger, gloom, elation on May Day
Workers around the world are celebrating May Day with protests and demonstrations. Unlike many years, when May Day has a celebratory atmosphere, this years protests are more widespread, with workers targeting austerity measures, banks, and unemployment. In Asia, workers demonstrated for higher minimum wages. In the US, protests were planned around the country.
