Workers rebrand "quiet quitting" to more pro-worker message of "acting their wage"
In the wake of the pandemic and changing work expectations in the US, the concept of "quiet quitting" has emerged. However, some workers have been trying to rebrand the concept of "quiet quitting" into a more empowering connotation of "acting their wage." These workers argue that the change in phrasing better centers the fact that people are doing their work, they just are working exactly to their job description. The concept of workers "acting their wage" also coincides with wages not keeping pace with high inflation, and workers expecting more from their employers.
