Workers say Whole Foods banned use of Spanish
Two Whole Foods employees claim that they were suspended from their jobs at the market for breaching the company?s ?English only? policy by speaking Spanish to each other. The company claims that no such policy exists and the employees were suspended for ?rude and disrespectful behavior.? Other employees of the site where the complaints surfaced say that they were never told not to speak Spanish. The advocacy group ProgressNow is organizing a boycott of Whole Foods and has launched an online petition where supporters can pledge not to shop at the market until the policy is recalled.
