Working conditions at Disneyland Paris are driving employees to suicide, claims union boss
A union boss at Disneyland Paris has accused the resort of driving its employees to suicide with its poor working conditions. Guy-Bruno Mboe has said that the profit-profit-profit mentality of the resort has continually forced few workers to work more for less money. He speaks specifically about a 37-year old restaurant manager who committed suicide last week. Mboe says the father of four had been thinking about quitting before his suicide, unable to keep up with the pace of the work for so little compensation. Two other Disneyland Paris workers have reportedly committed suicide this year. The resort management has dismissed Mboe's claim as ridiculous and accuse him of exploiting the tragic suicides for his own union's purposes. Nevertheless the resort has said it will be looking into levels of stress, harassment, and exhaustion associated with the work.
