Yale University workers ratified a new contract 9 months early yesterday ? the first time labor agreements have been drafted and approved early and without a lengthy battle or strike. 700 UNITE HERE union members voted ?yes? unanimously. The contact guarantees job security (no layoffs) ? an unusually good deal given the times. It was a historic event for the University, whose prior relationship with labor had been quite volatile.
