Your College Major Is a Minor Issue, Employers Say
A new survey of employers found that skills like critical thinking, problem solving and communication are more important than what an applicant's major was in college. Employers say that these skills are more important as they fill positions with broader responsibilities and more opportunities for problems. About half of employers said that they were satisfied with how colleges were preparing students for the workplace, with about 70% saying that students could succeed in entry-level positions.
