Unions protest proposal to revise overtime pay rules
The proposed changes would set higher income thresholds for overtime pay and reclassify which jobs are eligible for overtime pay. Critics of the new plan claim that the reclassification of jobs would take away overtime eligibility from millions of workers. Proponents of the changes say that the new plan will bring more clarity to the rules governing overtime pay and reduce litigation.
