Outside the Meeting, the Sounds of Protest
Representatives from a dozen consumer, labor and community groups staged a rally during Disney's shareholders meeting to protest the attempted takeover of Disney by Comcast as well as other issues such as sweatshops and the loss of American jobs. Many feel that there is already too much consolidation of media organizations. Labor activists were also there to criticize Disney's use of sweatshop labor abroad.
