Wal-Mart wins labor complaint
A federal judged has ruled that Wal-Mart cannot be held liable for the working conditions imposed by the retailer?s foreign suppliers. The International Labor Rights Fund filed a complaint last year that accused manufacturers in China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Swaziland and Nicaragua of a variety of labor law violations, including uncompensated mandatory overtime and dismissal for attempting to organize unions. The judge ruled that the facts provided did not support a claim of negligence or breach of contract.
