Anheuser-Busch InBev wins ruling to end Belgian blockade
Workers at two of Anheuser-Busch's plants in Leuven and Jupille, Belgium blocked the entrances for a week. The workers were protesting the cut of over 250 jobs from Anheuser-Busch's Belgian workforce. Talks between the two sides ended without a resolution on Thursday and the company announced on Friday that they had obtained a court order to stop the blockade, but preferred to use strikes to end the dispute. A union official said that a strike would be imminent if the company decided to use the court order, since the unions fulfilled requirements to seek reconciliation. The company says that if the dispute is not ended soon, production would be extremely disrupted.
