Indie studio Vodeo Games has become the first video game studio in North America with a certified union. A group of approximately 10 workers have formed a union called Vodeo Workers United in affiliation with the Communication Workers of America. Vodeo Games founder and game co-director Asher Vollmer said that recognizing the union was a “no brainer” and insists that the company has “long been a proud pro-worker studio.” Vodeo Workers United issued a statement saying, “By ensuring more workers like us have a protected voice on the job, we can set a precedent for new industrywide standards that will better our shared working conditions.”
