NLRB rules Starbucks union elections can be held on a store-by-store basis
On Wednesday, the National Labor Relations Board ruled that a single store is an appropriate unit for a unionization vote. Starbucks argues that union elections should be held by geographical area as employees can work at multiple locations and the stores in a certain market are managed as a cohesive unit. While handling this appeal by Starbucks, the NLRB postponed vote counts for a store in Mesa, AZ and three Buffalo-area stores. These vote counts will now proceed as scheduled.
