Boeing lays off 100 workers in Huntington Beach due to end of space shuttle program
Boeing?s last shuttle mission in Huntington Beach marks the last day for 100 Boeing employees in the Space Exploration division, some of whom have been working in the program their entire careers. But not everyone in the division was laid off because Boeing was able to transfer some of the workers into other space-related programs. Huntington Beach is only a part of Boeing?s company-wide layoffs, since 150 employees in Cape Canaveral and 260 employees in Houston have received their 60-day advance layoff notices.
