Employees let off steam online
An increasing number of workers are publishing weblogs, or blogs, which are websites that allow users to post messages in the form of a diary. Part of the growth in the use of blogs comes from companies that use them to cut down on e-mails, faxes, and phone calls. Blogs can be an asset to businesses when it comes to storing business communications and sharing information with clients and vendors. However, legal experts warn that employers should beware of external blogs that mention the company's name or contain confidential information. Things recorded in a blog could also someday be used against the company in a lawsuit.
