Fleeing to Foreign Shores
Unable to find interested investors domestically, US companies, like Reva Medical, are looking abroad for money. Due to the financial crisis, the US markets have not been giving domestics companies a chance, but in foreign markets, these companies have been find investors ready and willing to buy shares. With companies merging, going out of business, or sold to bigger companies, and with a barely open market, the number of American companies has seen a 40% decline. This trend suggests a more global outlook for stocks.
