Ford offers a voluntary buyout for 1,000 employees
Ford is looking to reshape their workforce with an employee buyout program. In June, the company had to significantly decrease their vehicle production and temporarily lay off workers. The company is now looking to buy out 1,000 salaried employees nationwide. They are using a voluntary resignation process and incentivizing the employees with seniority-based severance packages. Employees of five years or less will receive one month of severance and benefits. Employees of over 20 years will receive six months of severance, benefits, and reemployment assistance.
