Massachusetts Chipotle fined for violating labor laws
Chipotle has been fined more than $1 million due to thousands of labor law violations that occurred in a number Massachusetts locations. The aforementioned labor violations include child labor, improper record keeping, and failure to compensate employees in a timely manner. The investigation into Chipotle began following a complaint from a parent whose child had worked beyond midnight at a Chipotle restaurant. Authorities quickly learned that minors frequently worked late into the evening, and an excessive number of hours per week.
