North American McDonald's restaurants will now only serve food cooked with cage-free eggs. McDonald's announcement comes shortly after competitors such as Burger King decided to switch to cage-free eggs. This announcement will greatly affect the farms that currently supply McDonald's with eggs. Approximately only 6% of the hens in North America are raised cage-free.
