New Index Will Measure Online Help-Wanted Ads
The parent company of the careers Web site Monster.com, Monster Worldwide, will publish its first monthly Monster employment index of online demand for workers compiled from data on more than 1,500 Internet job boards. As more employers post recruitment ads onto the Internet, the new index will provide a more accurate picture of demand for workers. A possible drawback of the new index is that it may not capture those job seekers who are less technologically oriented and less likely to conduct internet job searches.
