San Francisco's Minimum Wage Increase Takes Effect
San Francisco has raised its minimum hourly wage from $6.75 to $8.50. Many restaurants have complained that this new law will drive them out of business. In order to deal with the increased wage rate, some restaurants are raising meal prices and cutting the wages of busboys and dishwashers.
