Silicon Valley Mapbox workers vote against unionization
On Thursday, workers of Silicon Valley startup Mapbox announced they had lost their bid to form a union. The company declined to voluntarily recognize the union when two-thirds of workers signed cards, so a vote was conducted on Wednesday. 123 employees voted against unionization and only 81 voted in favor. The Communications Workers of America say that Mapbox held anti-union meetings and crashed a union zoom meeting. Mapbox says they ask, “disappointed union supporters" to "respect their colleagues’ decision.”
