Small business gets credit for creating jobs
According to a report released this week by the Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy (SBA), small businesses are creating 75 percent of all new jobs and represent 99 percent of all businesses in the U.S. Thomas M. Sullivan, chief counsel for advocacy, said that the report was compiled each year to help make policymakers aware of the role small business plays in the economy. Small-business optimism was down a bit in July, which economists attribute to the decline in percentage of owners expecting the economy to improve.
