Smoking Ban in D.C. Workplaces Sought
Anti-smoking advocates are trying to gain support for legislation that would ban the use of cigarettes, cigars and pipes in all D.C. workplaces, including bars and restaurants. The proposed ban is being opposed by many restaurant and bar owners who feel that business will be negatively affected. An online petition on the Smokefree D.C. campaign's Web site has attracted 1,100 signatures since March.
