South African workers march in wage strike
Putting more pressure on the South African government, unions are calling for a strike over wages. The main unions federation Cosatu has called for more than 1 million workers to strike if their demands are not met. A spokesman for the union says that the government should value public workers more highly, and pay them, accordingly. The union rejected a pay offer of a 7% raise last week, and is asking for a 8.6% increase.
