The cost of workers' compensation insurance has more than doubled recently due to price hikes. In order to deal with this problem, approximately 20 bills concerning the workers' compensation problem are being sent to a conference committee for further review. Sen. Richard Alarcon of the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee hopes this move will protect the bills against opposition by special interest groups.
