Study: Female Directors Make Work Gains; Minorities Lag
The Directors Guild of America released a study that shows the number of female directors for TV episodes has been steadily increasing. In 2014, women directed 4,000 TV episodes which was a 2% increase from 2013. However, the number of TV episodes directed by men and women who identify as minority dropped by 1% in 2014. Even though the number of episodes aired last season increased by 10%, minority directors' "slice of the pie" decreased.
