The Issue of Self-Promotion
Judd Kessler, a Professor of economics and public policy at University of Pennsylvania, and Christine Exley, a professor of business administration at Harvard Business School have recent published research on how women are perceived in the labor market. Their research has highlighted a tendency for women to undervalue themselves in situations such as a formal performance review, a job interview, or a staff meeting. This tendency makes it more difficult for women to achieve parity and reduce the gender gap in the workplace.
