Unite union fears 180 job cuts at car parts firm Delphi
The British union Unite claims that Michigan-based car parts manufacturer Delphi plans to close one of its United Kingdom plants, in a move that the Unite union estimates will cost 180 jobs. Delphi did not confirm or deny the claim, saying that it was keeping its options open when it came to the plant. Delphi and Unite are currently in negotiations over the future of several other U.K. plants. Altogether, Delphi employs about 3,500 workers in the U.K.
