Wells Fargo union calls into question the company’s values following a worker’s death in Arizona office
A Wells Fargo employee was found deceased in the Tempe, Arizona office four days after she clocked into the building. The employee clocked in on August 16th, and she was found and authorities were called to the office on August 20th. Other Wells Fargo employees in the office stated that her desk was located in a remote area on the third floor, and she was the only member of her team that was located in Tempe, Arizona. It is not certain how many other workers were in the office on the third floor during the four days. Unionized Wells Fargo employees are represented by the Wells Fargo Workers United- Communications Workers of America Union, and the union released a statement regarding the worker’s death. The statement expresses sadness and outrage and demands better worker transparency and safety precautions. The union also stated that Wells Fargo consistently tracks and monitors online employee activity while neglecting the well-being of employees who are in office.
