West Virginia teachers strike to continue Wednesday
West Virginia teachers are on strike to repeal a new education bill, Senate Bill 451. The bill would introduce charter schools to the state of West Virginia and allow a portion of public funded money to go towards private school tuition. This is a pressing concern for teachers and students because it takes funding away from public schools that could greatly benefit from it. However, supporters of the bill say that it would give families more options when choosing a school. The discord led teachers to go on strike. As a result, the state House of Delegates has decided to postpone the bill indefinitely, which opponents of the bill see as a victory.
