Career counselors say that an increasing number of newly hired workers regret taking the positions that they currently hold. The Economic Policy Institute has reported that 21.8 percent of the nation's unemployed have been looking for work for six months or longer, and it seems that some job seekers are becoming desperate. Financial pressures and family obligations push people to accept job offers that are not a good fit for them. Career experts suggest taking a job that will allow you to further your career goals by learning a skill and making contacts within an industry, rather than just accepting the first job offered.
