L.I.U. Faculty Vote to Strike at C.W. Post and Brooklyn
Faculty unions at Brooklyn and C. W. Post have rejected contract offers from Long Island University, and plan to go on strike. Union leaders for both campuses feel that proposed salary increases are not substantial and are unhappy about the university?s attempt to make faculty members pay more in health care costs. A spokeswoman for the Brooklyn campus said that the university had received no notice of the plan to strike and thus was unable to comment on it.
