GM reaches deal with autoworkers
General Motors Corp., the last holdout of the "Big Three" US auto companies, has reached a deal with the United AutoWorkers. UAW President Gettelfinger said that the GM deal was similar to those reached with Ford and Chrysler. U.S. automakers have been struggling with foreign competition and the deals call for the closing or sale of up to 10 U.S. plants and thousands of job cuts.
